The tall bellflower is a moist open woodland showy lavender flowers blooming from the bottom up on stems from 3-6 feet tall. A true woodland stunner, this annual or biennial will reseed for continued garden presence and makes a lovely group or mass planting.

 

American Bellflower thrives in moist, well-drained soil and partial shade, preferring protection from the afternoon sun. It attracts long-tongued bees, halictid bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and skippers.
