At Seed and Nectar, we strive to ensure that your native plants reach you in the best condition possible. Please take a moment to review our shipping policy to understand how we handle the delivery of your orders:

Shipping Methods and Timeframes:

  1. Next-Day Delivery via Uber Package: We understand the need for speedy delivery, especially for local customers. That's why we've partnered with Uber Package to offer next-day delivery services to select areas:

    • Chapel Hill and Durham Locations: Next-day delivery is available for a flat rate of $20. Orders placed before [Insert Cut-off Time] will be delivered the following day.

    • Wake County and North Chatham County (Apex & Pittsboro): Next-day delivery is available for a flat rate of $40. Orders must be placed before 3pm to qualify for next-day delivery.

  2. 2 day Standard Shipping: We offer standard shipping services for all orders. The delivery timeframe for standard shipping varies depending on your location and the current shipping volume. Typically, orders are processed and dispatched within [X] business days after payment confirmation. Once dispatched, we use 2-day delivery via UPS as our standard.

Shipping Rates:

Shipping rates are calculated based on a minimum of $10 or 18% of your total order price. During the checkout process, you will be provided with a shipping quote before completing your purchase. We strive to offer competitive shipping rates while ensuring the safe and timely delivery of your plants.

Shipping Restrictions:
  1. International and Western US Shipping: At this time, we are only licensed for sales within North Carolina. We have applied for an export license and will accept pre-orders to ship outside of North Carolina but west of the Mississippi in April.  We will not ship to the following states due to habitat suitability as well as various regulations and restrictions regarding the transportation of live plants across borders.​​

    • No shipments to:  LA, TX, MS, HI, WA, OR​​, CA ID, NV, AZ, UT, WY, MO, CO, NM, ND, SD NE, KS or Puerto Rico. 

  2. P.O. Box Addresses: We are unable to deliver orders to P.O. Box addresses. Please provide a physical address for delivery during checkout.

Order Tracking:

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing tracking information. You can use this tracking number to monitor the status of your shipment and estimate the delivery date.

Delivery Issues:

While we strive to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all orders, we understand that issues may arise during transit. If you encounter any problems with your delivery, such as delays or damaged packages, please contact our customer service team immediately. We will work diligently to resolve any issues and ensure your satisfaction.

Order Cancellation and Modifications:

If you need to cancel or modify your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has been processed and dispatched, we may be unable to make changes or cancel the shipment. However, we will do our best to accommodate your request whenever feasible.

At Seed and Nectar, our mission is to provide you with the highest quality plants. We are dedicated to your success in nurturing native flora! We guarantee that our species are true to name and that plants arrive in good condition. If any losses occur due to delivery delays or adverse weather conditions during transit, please contact us promptly.


While we cannot guarantee successful growth after planting, we are here to support you through any disappointments you may encounter. Please inform us of any issues you experience, as we may be able to offer assistance. However, please note that our liability is limited to the cost of the plants purchased. No other guarantees, expressed or implied, are provided. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Plants should be promptly planted in the ground upon receipt. Our guarantee covers the establishment of potted plants after transplanting. They should exhibit healthy growth and begin thriving thereafter. Certain plants may not bloom in the first year after planting and we have noted such on the plant page.  Plants transplanted in the fall should establish themselves while temperatures are warm and may enter dormancy as the days shorten and temperatures drop. After the initial establishment period, factors beyond our control, such as plant placement, weather, care provided, wildlife interference, etc., may prevent us from offering replacements or refunds. All claims for credit or replacements must be made within 45 days of receiving your order.


In the event that a replacement is necessary, we will attempt to ship the same item during the same season. If a refund is required, we offer website credit excluding shipping fees. Please note that if replacement plants fail, we are unable to issue further replacements, credits, or refunds.
