A lovely sedge for moist areas in dappled sunlight, part shade or even some sun with adequate moisture, it is quite at home near a stream or woodland edge. This charming sedge will grow to 1-2' tall and wide with arching leaves, spreading slowly by rhizomes. It makes a great edging, accent or ground cover.

Cherokee Sedge is a host plant to Satyr caterpillars. It provides nesting material for birds and cover for small animals or toads. It is deer resistant.

Do not cut back as it will be slow to recover its foilage.
