In the garden today....

This is the time of year when the woodland garden really shines. The early spring woodland blooms are incredibly charming, but I particularly enjoy the ephemerals. These flowers bloom in the dappled light of the early spring understory and go dormant in the heat of summer (much like my gardening enthusiasm). Eastern Shooting Star, Dodecatheon meadia, is one such favorite!
